I've seen this idea a few times before and I've wanted to try it ever since. Making sweaters into pillows. I decided to make mine pillow covers since I wanted to use just make my couch pillows fall-ready instead of having sets of pillows for every season (where do people store those?!).
I started with scouring a local thrift store for some nice sweaters and found these three:
I basically cut the sleeves and collars off of them and then wrapped them around the pillow inside out and started hand stitching.
I closed each one up differently so here's a closer look!
The brown one I actually just loosely stitched closed and will undo it at the end of the season.
I think they are just perfect for the cooler weather and tie in well with the fall colours. I love the brown and beige ones so much that I might get permanent fillings for them and use them for Elias' big boy room!
What do you think? I have you ever tried anything like this? I would love to see them!
These are amazing Melanie! Such a cool idea and excellent execution of it!
