I decided to try out some apps before Baby T. was born to see which I prefer for tracking feedings, diapers weight etc.Oh how times have changed! Just yesterday I was looking at my mom's handwritten log of all my feedings! I figure an app will make this process more quick and easy.
I've narrowed it down to three and and am slowly leaning towards one of the three so I thought I would share!
The First is "Baby Feeding Log." I like it because it's simple and I feel like I could do it while I'm half asleep feeding Baby T. I can also email the log to myself in spreadsheet form as a back-up. The downside is that I can't track weight with it, but likely that's only something I will do when going to the Dr. so I know it will be tracked somewhere.
The next app is "Eat Sleep" which has a much prettier design. It's the free version of the app so there are ads like on the others (all three of these apps are free). This app lets you look at daily averages right within the app. I can also make other notes about Baby T. such as first smiles etc. It's not as quick on the main screen to add a feeding, but I can add a feeding after it finished instead of remembering to hit the tracker at the start.
The last app is "Baby Log Lite," which I am leaning towards. It lets you track just about everything you could need, see it as a visual and email it as a spreadsheet for later. You can also password protect and back-up the data which is good if anything were to happen to my phone (More worried about losing all the data than the phone!) It's not as pretty as the last app, but definitely nicer looking than the first and pretty quick to add feedings for those late night groggy moments. There is also a "diary" and a place to add milestones. I think I want these written in a baby book, but if I'm out and something exciting happens I can always log it here and add to the baby book later so I don't miss a beat.
Has anyone tried similar apps? Know of any better ones? I will probably try number three and let you know how it goes after I've been using it for a while. Wish me luck!
