What I was up to during the snow storm!

Last night the blender got a work-out!

In case you can't tell, that's FOUR batches of guacamole and one huge batch of hummus on the bottom.

YUM!

We dug into one of the guacamole last night- there's still some left...

Then I grabbed a glass of wine and studied our entrance some more. First of all, we found an ottoman from Wicker Emporium. What do you think? Kind of different right? Bonus- it was under budget at $30!

The corner still isn't done, the little storage ottoman looks kind of silly sitting there all by its lonesome. See the doorstop in the picture above though? No mat can go past that because nothing fits under the door (It would get all bunched up.)

I had a comment after my last entryway post that it looks like our shoes have made their way into the kitchen. Well they kind of have- the sitting area anyway.

It doesn't look so bad in the picture above, but when I step back about 1cm you can see how close they are to the table:

Any ideas how we can make the space work best? In the winter we really need the mat. Not sure where else to put one because there is not really enough space where the ottoman is. Shoe rack perhaps?

I kind of like it the way it is, I also have something to put on the wall (the one behind the door when it's open). Stay tuned! Maybe some hooks for Jetty's hats and my purse above the ottoman? Then it will look more complete!

What do you think?

  1. Hi Melanie!
What a great ottoman. Hooks above it sounds like a good idea. Have you thought of adding a little shelf and a mirror to the wall above the ottoman? You might find a shelf with hooks beneath it or just put them there yourself.
