Leaving Law School

*I usually write posts and then hit post in the morning and I forgot to post this today. Sorry it's delayed!

So to follow-up on Jetty leaving law school I just wanted to share a bit of background.
This is not a decision we entered into lightly. While it was ultimately Jetty's decision it's one we made together. Jetty just couldn't see himself being passionate about being a lawyer. He just really felt that it wasn't for him. I could see his excitement about it slowly dwindling and he wasn't putting his heart into it anymore. Life is short. Doing something you love is important to both of us and we are one step closer to finding that for Jetty now that he knows what he doesn't want to do.

My Stud
People keep asking me how I feel about it. It's not that I don't appreciate that people are concerned, but I really don't care too much that he has left. I didn't marry a law student, I married Jetty. I just want him to be doing something that makes him truly happy. I know that it changes the plans we had for the next few years, but that's exciting!

Everyone's been really supportive and they all seem to understand that it's really about finding something that makes you happy. I feel blessed to have married a man that makes these tough choices because he knows what he wants in life.

I love the unpredictability of life!

What do you think?

  2. Melanie,
I like this: I didn't marry a law student! Of course you didn't!
    Jetty,
Following your passion is something most people (of my generation)wait far too long to do. Kudos to you for recognizing this now and doing something about it.
I can imagine this must be exciting!
    All the best!
