Baptism- The Party

I shared details about Elias' baptism in yesterday's post and today I wanted to share a bit about his party which we held the next day.

It started out as a special day when, after I made some early morning preparations, I came upstairs to this:

Then some of the family arrived and we wanted to get pictures of the man of the hour!

From his perspective...

And then we all feasted! Most recipes or dishes I found on Pinterest!

Recipe found through Pinterest but source from Babble.
Just bagels, cream cheese and smoked salmon!

Recipe found through Pinterest but source is A Cozy Kitchen.
Recipe from a friend in Ontario: Peppers, sausage meat, peppercorn ranch dressing. Stir in bowl then add to phylo pastry stuffed muffin tins and bake at 350 for 6-8 mins.

Recipe found via Pinterest but from The Hungry Housewife
Banana Muffins and Blueberry Muffins

Found on Pinterest (there are tonnes) but the recipe I used was from Bakerella
Jell-O and Cool Whip recipe from the Jell-O package.
Cupcakes with frosting issues recipe came from Recipe Girl. I'll share more about that later...maybe. It's also the reason they aren't pictured below.
I also made some cookies and fruit skewers which you can see in the big dessert table picture.

Then I had a couple of drink stations!

Crystal Clear Punch recipe found here.

Sitty is Arabic for Gramdma (well our "English" spelling and translation of it).

Champagne (well mimosa) toast from Pepere!
It was so sweet! =)

Hands. My dad and grandfather and Elias.
It was a perfect day and we had lots of food left over but it has been delicious eating it all up! I had so much fun planning this party. Now I have to put all the energy I was using for that towards things like finishing up some important projects in the house. I'm so happy I could finally share details with you though!

  1. Wow, Melanie, this looks amazing! I'm sure your family (and someday Elias, too) appreciated all of the effort you put into this celebration. You're a younger, more hip Martha Stewart :)
