What would you do?

What would you do if you believed that we were all specifically chosen to be on this Earth, that we were made in the perfect image of God?

What would you do if you believed that we far-from lived up to this perfect image and so God sent his son Jesus to Earth for us to show us grace so we would be able to join him in heaven someday?

What would you do if you knew that all your friends and family have to do is believe, trust and put their life in Jesus’ hands and they could all join you in heaven?

Would you share? Would you want them to know?

What would it mean if your Christian friends didn’t want you to be a part of what they believe to be the greatest gift EVER?

Would you be happy they weren’t ‘offending’ you by talking about their beliefs, or would you be saddened that they don’t care enough to want you in heaven with them?

I know this is a VERY simplified way to look at a much more complex issue, but I often think:

If I don’t share my faith with others then I either don’t understand it properly/ believe it OR I don’t care about my friends and family enough.

On the flip-side. I hear people say “don’t talk to me about that ‘God’ guy.” Or “That’s not for me”. But at the very least, shouldn’t they just feel happy to have someone love them enough to want to share?

Thoughts?

How do you feel about living your life as a good example? Is it too obscure a way to share your beliefs?

  2. I think that is a great way to share your beliefs as well! Like the old quote says "Your life might be the only bible some people read".
Just looking at things from different points of view.
    What do you think?

Answering your questions in this post starting with "I would...":

    1. "specifically chosen to be on this Earth": attempt to enjoy every moment

    2. "show us grace": say heart-felt words over and over again to ensure I wouldn't be left out by being caught/killed off-guard

    3. "join you in heaven": double check there was no other way (e.g. ignorance)

    4. "share": share the information

    5. "want them to know": share the information if they were able to be receptive and appreciative of it

    6. "didn't share ... greatest gift EVER": be concerned about the strength of their belief

    7. "offending ... or ... don't care": probably not be concerned if I already knew the basis of their faith (since what everyone else says is a pretty good hint about what they aren't saying). Or, if I didn't know the basis of their faith and found out later, then I would be concerned about the strength of their belief.

    8. "love them enough to want to share?" hope that I can be empathic enough to be happy for the happiness of others.

    9. Thoughts: hope I am being empathic in saying that I'm glad religion is a "smiley" topic for you.
